About

Edward Jules Olivier.jpg

Edward Jules Olivier is a native of New Orleans Louisiana and was born into a family of tradesmen and artists in the 1940’s. As a child, he watched his uncle work, a graphic commercial illustrator and designer that worked at home. Edward was so inspired that he knew one day he would be an artist. At the age of ten, he moved with his family to Los Angeles California where he became truly bitten by the art bug. In the 7th grade, Edward experienced his first art class. Growing up, he took every opportunity to learn drawing and painting; sculpture, ceramics and jewelry making came later. Painting and sculpture became his passion. Edward is largely self-taught and furthered his education at Chouinard Art Institute, East LA College and The University of Southern California. He is influenced by old masters such as Sorolla and Rodin. Present influences are landscape painters Thomas Soltesz and Kevin D. MacPherson.

Edward’s goal is “Through painting and sculpture I aim to expose the inner essence of my subjects”.

“Giclee Prints”

All E. Jules Olivier giclee reproductions are signed and dated by the artist, printed on archival quality canvas, stretched onto wood frames with finished edges and delivered ready to hang.

A Giclee print is a museum quality reproduction made using a technologically advanced high-resolution digital scan of the original painting. The scan is followed by a professional printmaking process, using a large sophisticated state-of-the-art printer. The printer is designed specifically for artwork and uses archival quality inks and canvas.  This process is used by major museums around the world including the Metropolitan Museum and Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Art and the British Museum.

The giclee printmaking process provides the highest quality artwork reproduction available anywhere. When printed on canvas it is often difficult to tell the difference between the reproduction and the original painting.

The giclee reproduction process is a way to enjoy high-quality artwork in your home at an affordable price.
